Tom enjoys golf, travel, and cooking. He also has a strong suspicion that UFOs and space aliens exist.
Tom is based in our New York office. His expertise in immigration has allowed him to serve clients in a variety of non-immigrant visa cases (H-1B, L-1, E-1/E-2, O-1. P-3, H-3, J-1, I, TN), green card applications (family and employment-based), U.S. Citizenship applications, as well as issues relating to corporate compliance (PAF, I-9, E-verify). In particular, Tom has served as the primary point of contact for many of our Japanese clients, supervising paralegals, monitoring heavy caseloads, developing case strategies, establishing company policies, and coordinating daily case matters with our attorneys.
Prior to joining SWLG, Tom worked in project management as an Engineering Supervisor for a major general construction company in Japan for four and a half years. During his employment, his work experiences allowed him to foster effective business management skills in particular. Tom’s deep understanding of cross-cultural issues through his academic and professional experiences has greatly contributed to the growth and development of our company’s vision toward providing top quality legal services that put the client first.
Tom is an immigrant himself, having held F-1 and H-1B visas prior to becoming a permanent resident in the U.S. Tom understands and empathizes with the frustrations and concerns of his clients due to his b-cultural standpoint, having, himself, gone through the hurdles of securing various immigration benefits in the U.S.
